Leftover Steak Salad

Have we met??

As I write this blog once or a few times a week, I often find myself wondering; does anyone really get what its about?? Do I even get WTF its about?? I mean, clearly it’s a food blog, but as a blogger who follows other food bloggers, I fully understand that readers like to learn about the writer, not just the food. I don’t care to write about the writer today. What can I say?? I’ve been writing and posting about my stuff for years. We all have. Absolutely nothing is left to the imagination anymore.

Every person who has advised or helped me with the book recently, is saying to build and maintain an online presence, but it’s the one thing I am not inclined to do. Right now, I’m doing my very best to be present offline and living in real time. I’m not trying to promote a book that’s not even complete.

So then, would it be ok if sometimes I just come in, leave the damn recipe and not disclose all the shit that’s happening in my personal life?? You see, part of the trouble is, I sometimes struggle with not mingling the blog and the book. I feel like it will be virtually impossible not to do unless I just stick to the recipes.

The other part of the trouble is that I’m super wrapped up in the inner and outer house work. Both are cleaning up nice, and I need to keep it up if the book is going to be good work. This is a very happy predicament to be in.

I could come in here every blog and tell you what chakra I exercised, posture I practiced or how far I ran. I could tell you about the bad ass movie we watched last night. Now wait. That was actually worth telling about!! My friends, if you haven’t seen “Bohemian Rhapsody” yet, I highly suggest it. Freddy Mercury was a bad bitch. I’m now in awe.

But yeah, I have stuff to do, and while I love this little blog and writing about my silly life most of the time, I’m not going to force it. So, let’s get to the recipe and then I’ll get back to the cleansing of these lovely and colorful energy “wheels” called the chakras.

This steak salad was dreamt up while scanning the produce aisles yesterday gathering ingredients at random. I had seen something similar in the past and my memory bank did not fail me. I was seriously trying to get in and out of the store, just like I’m trying now to get in an out of this phone.

I am curious though. What does everyone else do with leftover steak??

What You Need:

12 oz steak cooked to your liking and sliced

1 package of these fabulous greens from Taylor Farms. I used baby spinach, arugula blend.

6 slices cooked turkey bacon

1/2 c Gorgonzola crumbles

1 avocado cubed

1/4 red onion sliced

1/4 c sunflower seeds

2 large basil leaves

1 c balsamic dressing. I use this brand

What You Do:

You make a salad, Mo Fos!! Like this here!!

All I did was mince the basil leaves super fine, and I added half to the cup of dressing to give it some extra ooomph. Food drama is cool. Use the other half of the basil to dress your plate.

We enjoyed some whole grain pita and roasted garlic hummus with ours.

Clean eating during the week makes this blogging gig so much easier. I’m just saying; there’s no way I’m telling anyone how to construct a damn salad.

Hope you all are having an amazing Saturday. Keep life light and sweet.
