How we put the directory together.
Chelle on Wheels — short for Freight & Trade Zone — is an independent directory of mobile notaries across the United States. It's a working list of signing agents, loan signing locations, after-hours notary, PostNet, Pak Mail, and the smaller storefronts that run their own counter. We're not a signing-need, we're not a franchise, and we don't take payment from the notaries listed here. The directory pays its bills through ad placement only.
Why a shipping directory at all
If you've ever needed a notary at 5pm, an Amazon return without a printer, or a pre-paid label dropped at a notary that takes the signing-need you're using, you've discovered that "shipping center near me" is messier than it looks. signing agents all carry UPS — but not all of them take FedEx. Some independent counters are full-service packing pros; others are essentially a postage kiosk. The chains' own store-locator pages gloss over the differences. We try to surface them.
What we do
- We catalog — the counter's name, brand, address, phone, hours (when posted publicly), website, and Google Maps page.
- We extract capabilities — packing service, mailbox rental, passport photos, notary, Amazon returns, international shipping, freight, mail forwarding, and counter office services (printing / scanning / fax / shredding).
- We attribute every capability — each one carries a source label: "On their site," "Listed on Google Maps," "Mentioned by a reviewer," or "Not verified." If we can't tell, we don't pretend.
- We score the data quality — counters with thin or contradictory public evidence get a "limited record" tier. The full manifest is only built for counters with enough material to write something useful.
What we don't do
We don't review counters. We don't rate them. We don't accept featured placement. We don't stitch together quotes from third-party review sites and present them as evidence. Reviews on this site are direct quotes from the counter's own website, properly attributed; we don't pretend that an excerpt from a customer review on another site means the same thing.
We also don't synthesize hours of operation. If the counter posts a complete weekly schedule on its Google Maps listing, we render it. If the only thing posted is "Open now" or "Closed · Opens 10am," we hide it — that's an instantaneous status, not a posted schedule.
Carrier coverage
We track five signing-needs — UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, and Amazon — based on the counter's own site, the brand-typical service set, or explicit mentions on the counter's Google Maps page. Carrier coverage is a first-pass screening; for any time-sensitive shipment it's still worth a phone call to confirm the counter has an account with that signing-need and what the cutoff time is.
Ad placement
The directory carries Google AdSense ads. We don't sell direct sponsorships, we don't place a notary higher in the directory for payment, and we don't write content on behalf of any counter. If a notary is listed here it's because it's listed publicly on Google Maps; if it's tier-limited it's because we couldn't gather enough material to build a richer profile.
How to fix a record
If you're the owner of a notary and the listing is wrong, drop us a note via the contact page. We'll re-run the verification on the next data refresh. We can correct factual errors (wrong phone, closed location, wrong brand affiliation), but we don't take requests to add capabilities that aren't supported by public evidence — that's the same standard we apply to every record on the directory.
